21ST CENTURY CHINA CENTER
A research hub within the School of Global Policy and Strategy, The mission of the 21st Century China Center is to produce and disseminate impactful evidence-based research about China, and to enhance U.S.-China relations by advancing scholarly collaboration, convening policy discussions, and actively communicating with policy makers and the general public in both countries.
21ST CENTURY INDIA CENTER
Inspired by the cutting-edge research and educational initiatives of the 21st Century China Center, the 21st Century India Center at the UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy serves as a world-class hub for the study of modern India and U.S.-India relations in a rapidly changing global, strategic and economic landscape. The center is a home research and collaboration aimed at facilitating dialogue and informing policy, and will drive thought leadership, education and public engagement on the most important issues involving India and U.S.-India relations.
Border Solutions Alliance
Cities along the U.S.-Mexico border face an increasingly complex set of challenges related to health, energy, infrastructure, environment, productivity and the movement of goods and people. The Border Solutions Alliance fosters collaboration among academic institutions, government agencies, nonprofit organizations and industry partners on both sides of the U.S.-Mexican border.
Center for Marine Biodiversity and Conservation
The Center for Marine Biodiversity and Conservation at Scripps Institution of Oceanography promotes interdisciplinary research and educational approaches to maintain the integrity of ocean ecosystems and manage their use in the face of rapid and inevitable global change.
Cultural Heritage Engineering Initiative
The Cultural Heritage Engineering Initiative (CHEI) at UC San Diego brings the power of student-driven engineering to the study and preservation of monuments, historic structures, archaeological sites, art and other artifacts. CHEI has created a comprehensive methodology and toolbox – integrating instruments for data collection, processing, analysis, visualization, and dissemination, with expertise in field deployment, training, and outreach.

Deep Decarbonization Initiative is a combined effort of faculty across UC San Diego working at the intersection of science, technology and policy.
ENLACE SUMMER RESEARCH PROGRAM
The ENLACE summer research program at UC San Diego aims to encourage the participation of high school students, university students, and researchers/teachers, in research in the sciences and engineering, while promoting cross-border friendships between Latin America and the United States.
Health Frontiers in Tijuana (HFiT)
Health Frontiers in Tijuana (HFiT) is a true, binational partnership between UC San Diego and the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, offering global public health learning opportunities to faculty and students just 30 minutes from the La Jolla Campus.
Global TIES
Global TIES partners interdisciplinary teams of UC San Diego students with nonprofits and NGOs to co-create solutions to socially urgent problems in San Diego and the developing world.
Institute of the Global Entrepreneur
The Institute for the Global Entrepreneur (IGE), a joint initiative between Jacobs School of Engineering and the Rady School of Management, inspires and prepares engineers to be entrepreneurial leaders and translate technology innovations to market to fuel the economy and benefit society. With a unique blend of education, workshops and mentoring, IGE's programs are geared to help our engineering address real-world issues with technology solutions.
The International Institute
The International Institute was established in 2017 with generous funding from the Chancellor to coordinate and support scholarship and teaching on international issues at UC San Diego.
Israel Immersion Program - Rady School of Management
The Israel Immersion — with colleagues from Rady and Israel — offers a unique opportunity for a 10-day intensive experience, learning about the Israeli market and culture, connecting students with local industry experts and policymakers.
The Kawasaki Disease Research Center
The Kawasaki Disease Research Center is a collaboration between the Departments of Pediatrics, Medicine, and Family and Preventive Medicine and Sociology at UC San Diego, the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, and Rady Children's Hospital San Diego. The Program was created to help foster excellence in care for patients with Kawasaki Disease (KD) and to support clinical, laboratory, and epidemiologic investigation into the etiology, pathophysiology, and natural history of the disease.
Mexican Migration Field Research Program
The Mexican Migration Field Research Program (MMFRP) is a nationally and internationally renowned academic program housed at UC San Diego that works hand-in-hand with immigration advocates to design and carry out original research.
Mozambique Program
In collaboration with faculty at the Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (UEM), UC San Diego Division of Infectious Diseases has developed an active bilateral exchange program involving medical residents, medical students and postdoctoral fellows.
Scripps Polar Center
The Scripps Polar Center brings together scientists from the three research sections of Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego who investigate everything from ocean physics to the ecology of polar organisms.
THE TATA INSTITUTE FOR GENETICS AND SOCIETY
The Tata Institute for Genetics and Society (TIGS) is a partnership between the University of California San Diego, the India-based philanthropic Tata Trusts and the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (InStem) in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The overarching goal of TIGS is to advance global science and technology research in a socially conscious and ethical manner to ultimately find solutions to address some of the world’s most pressing issues, ranging from public health to agriculture.
UC SAN DIEGO TOKYO OFFICE
Launched in 2016 by the Jacobs School of Engineering and the Office of Research Affairs, the Tokyo Office is a multi-functional space that serves as a home base for visiting faculty and provides a venue for research symposia
and networking/ alumni events in Japan.
