Custom Training Programs
Global Initiatives, in collaboration with campus partners, designs and coordinates custom training programs for a wide-variety of international audiences. These are short-term opportunities designed around a specific theme or topic relevant to UC San Diego's academic and research strengths. These custom programs can be for K-12 students, working professionals, academics and educators, and visiting fellows and scholars.
For anyone interested in creating a custom training program at UC San Diego, please contact Courtney Giordano for an initial meeting and assessment.

Program Development Process
What We Provide
Global Initiatives closely collaborates with institutions and clients to develop and execute custom training programs. Global Initiatives will organize the following programmatic elements of the custom training program:
- Source instructors
- Design curricula
- Arrange workshop and meeting spaces
- Order food and catering as needed
- Reserve accommodation (either on or off-campus)
- Host pre-arrival information sessions and orientations
- Organize extracurricular activities (tours, visits, cultural excursions, etc.)
- Issue certificates of participation and completion
Service Agreement
To implement a custom training program, the organization and UC San Diego will need to enter into a service agreement. A service agreement is a legally binding agreement between UC San Diego and an external customer, such as a corporation, other university, or federal agency, setting forth the terms and conditions under which UC San Diego will provide goods or services to that customer as a vendor/contractor.
Program Fees
Global Initiatives and our business office will do our best to find services and support at a fair or discounted price. The fee for each custom program will vary based on length and type of programming and activities. We encourage out clients to endeavor to source extramural funding to increase access to custom training programs for the participants.
