The Center for Marine Biodiversity and Conservation at Scripps Institution of Oceanography promotes interdisciplinary research and educational approaches to maintain the integrity of ocean ecosystems and manage their use in the face of rapid and inevitable global change.
Cultural Heritage Engineering Initiative
The Cultural Heritage Engineering Initiative (CHEI) at UC San Diego brings the power of student-driven engineering to the study and preservation of monuments, historic structures, archaeological sites, art and other artifacts. CHEI has created a comprehensive methodology and toolbox – integrating instruments for data collection, processing, analysis, visualization, and dissemination, with expertise in field deployment, training, and outreach.

Global TIES partners interdisciplinary teams of UC San Diego students with nonprofits and NGOs to co-create solutions to socially urgent problems in San Diego and the developing world.
Institute of the Global Entrepreneur
The International Institute
The International Institute was established in 2017 with generous funding from the Chancellor to coordinate and support scholarship and teaching on international issues at UC San Diego.
Israel Immersion Program - Rady School of Management
The Israel Immersion — with colleagues from Rady and Israel — offers a unique opportunity for a 10-day intensive experience, learning about the Israeli market and culture, connecting students with local industry experts and policymakers.

Mexican Migration Field Research Program
The Mexican Migration Field Research Program (MMFRP) is a nationally and internationally renowned academic program housed at UC San Diego that works hand-in-hand with immigration advocates to design and carry out original research.
Mozambique Program
In collaboration with faculty at the Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (UEM), UC San Diego Division of Infectious Diseases has developed an active bilateral exchange program involving medical residents, medical students and postdoctoral fellows.
Scripps Polar Center
The Scripps Polar Center brings together scientists from the three research sections of Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego who investigate everything from ocean physics to the ecology of polar organisms.
THE TATA INSTITUTE FOR GENETICS AND SOCIETY
UC SAN DIEGO TOKYO OFFICE
Launched in 2016 by the Jacobs School of Engineering and the Office of Research Affairs, the Tokyo Office is a multi-functional space that serves as a home base for visiting faculty and provides a venue for research symposia and networking/ alumni events in Japan.
